The African Leaders Factory Initiative hit the ground running this year — from launching an Alternative Education Forum which brought together policymakers, teachers and young people on the problems of education in Africa. Social actions to improve the living conditions of the populations of Senegal,Burkina Faso, Mauritania and India have been managed through activities. The most important in 2017 was the Youth Assembly Summit, which involved hundreds of young Africans on sustainable development and human rights.
On February 20, 2017, after seeing one of his former classmates leave school to help his family because he could no longer afford to pay for his studies due to the recent death of his mother, Babacar Junior Diop was determined to create a non-profit organization to help those who do not have access to quality education and training. He brought together his friends and teachers who had the same vision to develop the project on a very important scale. A platform called ALFI LEARN is in progress where multitudes of free training courses will be available in February 2018.

Even though we’re a bunch of teenagers from a variety of backgrounds and skin tones (at a school with a vast range of socioeconomic and demographic situations), we believe that if we choose to work together, we can truly give life to our missions.”

At the very beginning, there were only 5 big pillars who joined Babacar Junior Diop and set up together African Leaders Factory Initiative. The Executive Board once in place was looking for assigned members to expand the office and share the program with them.

Selection of Members for ALFI Administration
This day was very important, after the idea of Babacar Junior on the creation of ALFI, it was time to focus on a good team for the beginning. The selection was tough because all the young people found the idea and vision of African Leaders Factory Initiative very interesting and important. Finally 25 young leaders were chosen.
One, Two , Three ready for ALFI’S BOOTCAMP
Before embarking on the activities, a bootcamp is planned on March 11 to train the members of the administration and create a very efficient working environment. Inclusion, openness, solidarity, leadership and other values will be taught to selected members on this day.

Before starting its activities, ALFI set up a Bootcamp program to train its ambassadors on Leadership and Civic Engagement. This experience was unique for all participants present.

ALFI PREPARES ITS FIRST INTERNATIONAL FORUM AT DAKAR
From April 15, the ALFI Administration and the young ambassadors are actively working to achieve with professionalism and passion the first forum in Africa: The Alternative Education Forum. Activities and meetings were jammed from week to week to be ready. More than 200 guests was expected.
Alternative education requires our dedication, vision and true cooperation between governments and African start-ups to work together to make our system more inclusive and flexible. We must facilitate the Internet mainly in rural areas, because for a certain balance in the years to come.

PREPARATION OF DIPLOMATIC MEETING
Before August 12, the International Youth Day, ALFI Administration prepares the activities program of 2018 and works on the release of international goals by 2022. Enchanted meetings at the United Nations of New York and UNFPA are expected at the beginning of July .

The young Pape Ndiodio Dioum occupies the key post of ALFI being appointed by the General Assembly as Head of International Affairs. He must represent ALFI in the international community and in diplomacy between the different members around the world and leaders.

For the first time in Africa, Dakar hosted the “Youth Assembly Summit” organized by African Leaders Factory Initiative in partnership with UNFPA and Youth Assembly at United Nations theme: Young people build peace – The role of African youth in facing the challenges of development sustainable. This assembly had gathered more than 150 young people of 9 nationalities different. The discussions conducted by the 5 commissions created were very relevant to the fields of economics, politics, health, environment, security, education and good governance.
