Leaders incite change. They take action to build the world they envision—while encouraging others to do the same. At ALFI, we believe that any good leadership development can only happen when applied to real, complex problems.

Referent/Coordinator/Animator 

The stakes in this decade are really high, so to make the biggest impact possible this year, we are running our flagship referent/coordinator/animator program in communities across the country. We’ll be focusing on building a team, and a local committee composed of active members of ALFI in 45 departments across the country—whose representatives overwhelmingly consult and with the administration, contrary to their district’s wishes. We’ll be focused on holding these representatives accountable throughout the year.

The ALFI Fellowship Program Training is built to help new leaders develop their skills while providing a meaningful experience for those looking to address the root challenges facing their community. ALFI Delegates come from varied backgrounds and skill levels, but the fellowship serves as an entry point for those looking to take action and make a difference. This fellowship provides the tools and training to make real progress and to ensure that diverse voices have a place in this movement. That’s where you come in.

ALFI is seeking coordinators/adherents/animators to lead and manage members from all over the country—people who are passionate about developing new organizers and working to address difficult local challenges. Coordinators/Adherents/Animators should also be excited to learn about and practice what leadership means, and to apply it to their group and beyond.

As a coordinator/adherent or animator, you’ll work alongside your fellows as they identify challenges affecting their community. Together, you’ll develop an advocacy campaign to make progress on that issue. Ultimately, we are in this for the long haul: to create more accessible and participatory entrepreneurship at all levels of venture capitalist.

As part of this program, you will work with the ALFI Executive Board to run activities in your community, and, at the same time, develop your leadership and management skills through meaningful, hands-on experience.

For days, weeks, years, and years, coordinators/adherents or animators will identify challenges affecting their community, and then develop an advocacy campaign to make measurable progress on that issue, focusing on a long-term approach towards change through the local committee.
