For the first time in Africa, Dakar hosted the Youth Assembly Summit organized by the African Leaders Factory Initiative in partnership with UNFPA Senegal and the Youth Assembly at United Nations with the theme: Youth build peace – The role of African youth in facing the challenges of sustainable development. This assembly brought together more than 150 young people from 9 different nationalities. The discussions of the 5 commissions created were very relevant in the areas of economics, politics, health, environment, security, education and good governance.

Youth Assembly Summit was created in 2017. We are not only a student association but also a non-governmental organization, accredited to the United Nations Fund Population in West Africa & Center with consultative status at the Youth Council. For the 2th edition of our renowned Annual Conference in 2018 at Dakar, Senegal, we can guarantee you a unique and unforgettable experience in an extraordinary environment.
The Annual Conference is not only the chance to spend one entire week at the United Nations headquarter at Dakar, but also the opportunity to meet people from all over the world, and to debate highly relevant topics in one of the most international atmospheres. In our long history, we have distinguished ourselves as one of the biggest MUN (Model United Nations) conferences in Africa and we are proud of the high quality of debates and our skilled staff that organised the conference each year. Furthermore, Youth Assembly Summit is entirely bilingual—interpretation and translation are both provided in English and French.
Our consultative status with Youth Council of the United Nations commands us all to produce work of the highest standard. Thus, the resolutions produced at the end of the week will not be written in vain, as they will be sent to the UNFPA West Africa & Center in order to present the perspective of young people on some of the most important and current topics. This is finally a unique opportunity for students to live at the pace of Dakar the King Fahd Palace, an internationally renowned diplomatic center, during one full week, to get to know this fascinating city, and to meet other participants from all over the world.
No words can describe the event that is a well-organised Model United Nations conference. It is not only a professional and professionalizing experience, but also the perfect applied complement of academic education. It is a concentration of some of the most motivated, dedicated and educated minds of a generation. It is an eye-opening opportunity to meet young minds from around the world, acquire a universal network of contacts, share culture and ideas, socialize and have fun while putting on paper an innovative framework that will forge the international community of tomorrow.
To conclude, the only way to fully understand what Youth Assembly Summit by ALFI really is, to grasp the sublime life experience that lies behind this unpleasant acronym, is to step up and take part in one.
